• Carefully search for evidence and collect what you can. Be
sure to closely examine the floor of the bathroom area, because there’s
an important piece of evidence that was left there. Once you find it,
send it over to the records and research unit for analysis, by going
to the precinct and using the forms on your desk. After a little time
has passed, be sure to go to the research unit in the precinct to view
the results.
• Check out the contents of the victim’s locker. Be sure
to view the phone number that is taped to the door, and collect the
other evidence you find. If you can’t figure out the combination,
be sure to question Nicole Beaumont carefully and read the newspaper
that was left on one of the locker room benches. Think about a combination
that the victim would be able to easily remember.
• Interview Nicole Beaumont, the tennis player who discovered
the body. Be sure to ask her questions that she would logically know
the answers to. Try to choose questions that you think would yield useful
information about the crime. When no more questions are available to
you, you have obtained all the relevant information.
At the Medical Examiner’s Office
• Use the map and go to the Medical Examiner’s office and
interview her about her findings.
• View the autopsy report and collect it.
• Look through the evidence taken from the victim’s body.
You’ll need to collect items that can be tested by the crime lab
to help determine what really happened.
Following Leads
• Interview the victim’s mother, whose address you found
in the victim’s locker. Be sure to ask her about something you
found at the M.E.’s office, by dragging the icon from your inventory
to her. This will lead to your next interview.
• Interview Frank Morelli, the victim’s ex-coach, about
his history with the victim and who is involved with her career now.
• Talk to the victim’s agent, Mark Greenfield, about the
status of the victim’s career. You’ll want the records and
research unit to look into his background.
• Speak with the victim’s coach, Patrick McEnroe and find
out who the victim was spending her off-the-court time with.
• Visit Rodrigo Silva, the victim’s ex-boyfriend, and find
out where he and Elena used to rendezvous. When he clams up, you’ll
need to give him something from the locker room that proves he’s
lying about when he last saw Elena.
• After viewing the research report on the access card, Interview
Jimmy Russo, the security guard. Ask him about his access card by dragging
the icon to him. It’s a good idea to send the card to the crime
lab after he touches it. Be sure to stop by in a little while to view
the results on the card, as well as the results on anything else you’ve
submitted for analysis. Once you’ve found out Jimmy Russo’s
real name, you should send him over to records and research so they
can run a background check. Be sure to check back soon to collect the
research report.
• Use your cell phone to Call Howard Cragen, the lawyer who’s
phone number was taped inside Elena’s locker. Find out what you
can about the victim until he clams up. You’ll need to return
to him later in the game when you’ve found the victim’s
will.
At Elena’s Secret Apartment
• Go to the victim’s apartment, and use something you found
in her locker to unlock the door. Look at each room carefully and collect
the evidence you find. Send the item that would likely have fingerprints
on it over to the crime lab, as well as the item that could be traced
to a typewriter.
• Assemble the torn up letter on the floor in Elena’s bedroom.
If you have a hard time putting it all together, double click on one
of the pieces and see what happens.
• Give the parrot what it might want to hear it whistle a tune.
This song is the clue that will help you open the locked music box on
the end table in Elena’s living room. After you open it, be sure
to send the contents of the music box to the records and research unit
so they can check it out. When you review the results at the research
unit, you’ll have to help out by reassembling the Ukrainian text,
which is in bad shape.
• Interview Elena’s neighbor by going out Elena’s
front door and into the hallway to the apartment next door. Find out
if the neighbor as seen anything unusual lately.
More Interviews
• Return to Jimmy Russo/Peter Hamlin, and use the research report
on him showing his history with the victim to get him to talk.
• Talk to tennis rival Claire Thomas and find out how she felt
about the victim.
• Speak with the victim’s doubles partner, Kaya Talib,
to learn about something that may have been upsetting the victim.
• Go back to the victim’s mother to find out what she may
have left out about the victim’s father.
Searching Peter Hamlin’s apartment
• Place Peter Hamlin in the suspect window of the search warrant
form on your desk at the precinct, and use the report that shows his
true identity and the report that revealed his violent history with
the victim as supporting evidence.
• Once the search warrant is approved, you’ll have to find
a battery for the flashlight so you can look around. To do this, maneuver
the boxes in the storage room to make a path for Briscoe to get to the
center square on the far right column. The easiest path to that spot
is toward the top of the screen over the long vertical box. Once you’ve
obtained the battery, drag it onto the flashlight and collect the flashlight.
Then search the apartment and collect all the evidence you find. Send
the item to the crime lab that could help identify a typewritten letter,
along with the items that contain a liquid that could be analyzed.
• Open the locked cabinet by clicking pairs of letters to make
them switch places. The clue to the lock is on a wall in the apartment.
Once you’ve opened the cabinet you should send the contents to
the research unit for further analysis. Be sure to check back to view
the results of these tests after a little time has passed.
Following More Leads
• Call Ben Winters on your telephone, the sports writer who wrote
the article in Peter’s apartment, and find out about Elena’s
standing in the tennis world.
• Receive a phone message from Tony Jefferson identifying the
man on the videotapes you found at Peter’s apartment.
• Interview Yuri Zalisky. In order to get him to cooperate, you’ll
have to show him something from Elena’s apartment that proves
he is her father.
• Return to Svetlana to find out why she didn’t tell you
the truth about Elena’s father before. Since she’s proven
to be untrustworthy, place Svetlana under surveillance.
• Talk to Omar Talib, Kaya’s father. He’ll tell you
about Kaya’s relationship with the victim and his thoughts about
the industry.
• After viewing the surveillance report on Svetlana, visit the
Eastside Women’s health clinic and talk to Eleanor Sullivan and
Toki Yamamato. Try to find out if Elena visited the clinic and if she
knew she was pregnant.
Searching Svetlana’s House
• On the search warrant form, place Svetlana in the suspect window.
Use the person at the clinic who gave the most information, the report
that revealed Svetlana visited the clinic, and the report that showed
her arguing with someone at the stadium as supporting evidence.
• After the search warrant is approved, collect all the evidence
you find in Svetlana’s house. Send the documents you find to the
records and research unit so they can look further into them. Be sure
to look behind the tapestry in the dining room. If you need help with
the combination, the answer is included in an article hanging on the
wall in the living room. Collect the contents of the safe.
Continuing the Investigation
• Call Howard Cragen back and let him know you’ve seen
the will. He will tell you who the executor is.
• Interview Mark Greenfield again and find out more about his
involvement with the victim’s family. Take the evidence he offers
you, and send it to the crime lab for analysis. After some time has
passed, go to the crime lab and view the results on the photo, along
with the other items you’ve submitted. You’ll get the chance
to try to match the typewriter you found in Peter’s apartment
with the hate mail you found in the victim’s bedroom. You’ll
hear the results after correctly matching all twelve letters.
• Go back and talk to Peter Hamlin, and show him the report that
proves he was threatening Elena. He’ll tell you something suspicious
about Claire.
• Return to Claire Thomas and find out what her argument with
the victim was about. Take the item she offers you.
• Talk to Rodrigo Silva again, and show him what Claire gave
you to get him to tell you more.
• Be sure to check your messages, and find out what new information
Tony Jefferson has found on Mark Greenfield.
Searching Mark Greenfield’s Apartment
• On the search warrant form, place Mark Greenfield in the suspect
window. As supporting evidence, include the report that shows Mark Greenfield
was in financial trouble, the document that indicates Elena’s
death was worth a good deal of money to him, and the document that shows
Elena’s mother was transferring money into his account. Also include
the testimony of someone who said Greenfield may have been romantically
interested in the victim, as well as the witness who said Greenfield
knew about Elena’s father showing up in New York before the tournament.
• Search the apartment and collect all the evidence you find.
In order to open the box in the bathroom, you’ll need to think
about what the contents might be to form the correct two-word combination.
The logo on the box could provide a hint, as well as the envelope on
the dining room table. Think about what a middle-aged man may need but
be ashamed of.
• Be sure to find the item Mark Greenfield has hidden up the
chimney. To find it you’ll have to use an item you found at Svetlana
Kusarova’s house that can help you see up the flue, as well as
something you’ve found in Mark Greenfield’s house that could
help you knock it down. Submit the items you found in Mark Greenfield’s
bathroom to the crime lab, and any important documents to the records
and research unit. Make sure you check back to view the results.
More Interviews
• Talk to Mark Greenfield again and ask him about the objects
you found in his apartment.
• After you’ve viewed the research report on the impound
receipt, go talk to Elena’s neighbor one more time, to see if
she’s remembered anything else about the night before the murder.
• Talk to the driver at the car service Sophie mentioned, and
take the log he offers you.
• Be sure to check your messages, and find out what the crime
lab has discovered about the DNA.
Make the Arrest
• Now you have enough evidence to arrest Mark Greenfield. You
will need nine pieces of supporting evidence. Use the report that shows
Mark Greenfield was in financial trouble, as well as the document that
indicates Elena’s death was worth a good deal of money to him.
Include the two lab tests that connect Mark Greenfield to the victim
that show she may have struggled before she died. Use an item from the
crime scene that was matched to an item in Greenfield’s apartment
that implies that he visited the crime scene and left something behind.
Use the testimony of person who revealed that Elena knew she was pregnant.
Include the person who proved that Mark Greenfield was at the crime
scene at the time of the murder. Use the lab test on the item from the
Medical Examiner’s office that shows his paternity.
Now that you have made the arrest, you’ll switch roles and partner
with Assistant D.A. Serena Southerlyn to present your case against the
defendant. Hershell Morton, the defense attorney, has convinced the
judge to suppress the testimony of Toki Yamamato. You will now have
some time to do some more investigation before going to trial.
Pretrial Investigation
• Now that Greenfield is in custody, he may agree to a psychiatric
evaluation. Submit one and see.
• Look around and collect all the evidence you can find in Mark’s
office. Be sure to open the drawer in the cabinet behind Mark’s
desk, using something you found in his apartment. In order to view his
computer screen, you’ll have to lower the open blind that is causing
a glare. Once the blind is down you will need to enter a password. Look
around his office to see what password he may have used. Think about
a famous sports icon he may have idolized. Once the computer password
is entered, you’ll see a printer error. Click on the printer and
drag the paper from your inventory to it. Then collect the document
that prints. Send all the documents you’ve collected from the
office to records and research.
• Interview Kaya Talib again, to see if she can tell you anything
more about Elena’s pregnancy.
• Visit the Odessa Gift Shop. On the inventory database computer,
match the size, shape and colors you see on the receipt you collected
from Greenfield’s office to find out what he bought and where
it was shipped.
• Interview Ivana Kirenikov about the nature of her relationship
with Mark Greenfield. Have the research unit look into her background.
• Be sure to view all of the research reports you ordered as
well as the psychiatric evaluation on Mark Greenfield. At this point
D.A. Northcutt should let you know you are ready to go to trial to present
your case. If not, you must have skipped something important.
• Now it’s time to prepare your subpoena on the desk in
your office. In the witnesses section, make sure you include someone
who would have known if Elena was using steroids to improve her game,
as well as a man who Mark Greenfield was trying to keep away from the
victim. You’ll want to include a person who heard Mark fighting
with the victim the night before the murder, along with someone who
can place him at the crime scene at the time of the murder. In the evidence
section, you should include two pieces of evidence that show Mark was
at the crime scene. You should also present the lab tests that show
the victim struggled with him, the lab test that indicated Mark’s
paternity, and the lab test that revealed the name of the drug that
was in the victim’s system. You’ll want to present the autopsy
findings and the document that says the victim was pregnant. You should
include the document that proves Mark was at the stadium at the time
of the killing. You’ll also want to present the research report
that shows Mark stood to make a lot of money on Elena’s death,
as well as the one that shows he was paying for her apartment. You should
include the research report that shows his car was towed from outside
her apartment the night before the murder, along with the research reports
that show he was having financial trouble, and that he had off-shore
accounts that may have been used for gambling. Lastly, you should present
the psychiatric findings on Mark.
Trial – The Case for the Prosecution
• Be sure Patrick describes the high expectations the players
had to live up to, and object to three out-of-line questions on the
part of Hershell Morton.
• Elizabeth Hernandez should describe her findings on the blood
sample, the embryonic cells, and the hairs under the victim’s
nails. You’ll need to object twice when Morton cross-examines
her.
• Ask Geoffrey Hoffman about his psychological conclusions about
Mark Greenfield, and object twice while Morton cross-examines him.
• Sharon Rutledge should elaborate on her autopsy findings and
the pregnancy results. You should object twice when Morton cross-examines
her.

and the jacket found at Mark Greenfield’s apartment.
• Tony Jefferson should discuss his research reports on Mark
Greenfield, the foreign account, the impound receipt, the checks, and

foreign account.
• D.A. Northcutt should now let you know it’s time for
the Defense to present its case in court.
Trial – The Case for the Defense
• During Rodrigo Silva’s direct exam, you’ll need
to object to three questions. During your cross, try to get the victims
to state that he never gave drugs to the victim.
• When Peter Hamlin testifies, you should object to three of
Morton’s questions. When you question him, try to get him to demonstrate
that he had no motive to kill Elena.
• When Morton questions Claire Thomas, you should object to two
of his questions. During your cross, be sure you ask her to explain
what her argument with the victim was about.

questions. When you question her, try to get her to explain how Elena’s
father’s past getting out could have threatened Elena’s
career.
• When Mark Greenfield takes the stand, you should object to
one of Morton’s questions. When it’s your turn to question
him, be sure he tells the court how much money he lost on the doubles
bet he placed after Elena’s murder.

Omar for surveillance.
• Check your messages to hear Jefferson’s call about Ivana
Kirenikov leaving the country. You should then submit Ivana for surveillance.

and Ivana, go to Empire Storage. Be sure to view the sign-in sheet for
help in opening the padlock. Once inside the unit, note the doll collection
on the shelves. You’ll need to first identify the doll that Greenfield
gave to her. You should select that doll first, and then follow a pattern
based on the position of the dolls, to open a secret compartment. Open
the box in the secret compartment by completing the picture to reveal
important evidence. Send that evidence to records and research.

give it to Omar to get him to testify in the final day of trial.
